We are seeking an experienced Team Manager – People & Culture to join us on a 12-month maternity leave backfill, leading our P&C function and partnering closely with leaders across the organisation during a period of growth, systems uplift and workforce development.
This is an opportunity for a senior HR professional who wants their expertise to genuinely matter.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Corporate Services Officer, you will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on guidance across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring our people are supported, compliant, engaged and empowered to deliver high-quality services to the community.
You will:
* Lead, mentor and develop a dedicated People & Culture team
* Partner with executives, managers and leaders to provide trusted, practical HR advice
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations
* Provide advisory support on industrial relations and enterprise agreement matters
* Champion safe, compliant and trauma-informed employment practices
* Drive workforce initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, inclusion, capability and retention
* Oversee HR systems, reporting, analytics and continuous improvement initiatives
* Support the ongoing implementation and optimisation of HRIS and LMS platforms
About you
You are a confident, grounded HR leader who balances empathy with clarity and structure. You understand the realities of complex, people-centred organisations and enjoy partnering with leaders to navigate challenges thoughtfully and effectively.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, applicants must demonstrate:
1. A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management, Business or equivalent, with substantial relevant experience.
2. Demonstrated experience in end-to-end human resources management, including recruitment, contract administration, remuneration advice, employee relations and performance management, with a sound understanding of relevant awards, enterprise agreements and employment legislation.
3. Proven ability to lead and support People & Culture operations, including mentoring staff, overseeing HRIS systems, and generating workforce data reports to inform organisational planning and compliance.
4. Effective interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships, provide strategic and operational HR advice to managers, and contribute to a positive workplace culture through collaboration and process improvement.
5. Demonstrated experience driving change initiatives that inspire commitment and deliver sustainable outcomes across diverse stakeholders.
