The NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Director to lead improvements to financial systems, processes and capabilities within the Planning group. This role fosters knowledge sharing, elevates digital and analytical skills, and supports strategic decision-making.

Main Responsibilities:

* Design and implement finance process improvements aligned with best practices and compliance requirements.
">
* Champion the adoption of AI and automation tools to streamline reporting, forecasting and transactional processes.
">
* Provide performance reporting and high-level critical analysis and specialist advice on financial results, divisional initiatives, projects and related issues.
">

Required Skills and Qualifications:
">

* Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems.
">
* Demonstrated experience in finance transformation, business process improvement or systems implementation within a large corporate or government environment.
">
* Strong understanding of management accounting principles, financial operations and reporting.
">
* Experience in AI, automation and digital tools (e.g., Power BI, machine learning or large language models).
">
* Tertiary degree in accounting, business, technology or commerce.
">
* Qualified Certified Practising Accountant or Chartered Accounting, or working towards these qualifications.
