About the role
As a Mechanical Fitter at One Harvest, you will play a crucial role in our fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for undertaking planned preventative and reactive breakdown maintenance, whilst ensuring established health and safety procedures are continually followed. Along with working on plant equipment that includes our recently introduced automated top notch equipment ensuring optimization of our equipment achieving uninterrupted production and high product quality in support of our mission of delivering safe and delicious food products to our customers.
A day in the life
* With a safety and quality orientated culture and focus, you'll;
* Proactively identify & coordinate preventative maintenance across the site
* Be responsible for completion of planned maintenance tasks to ensure breakdowns are prioritized to meet production needs
* Provide technical support & training to machine operators for basic troubleshooting
* Provide detailed accounts of all work performed and logged in our CMMS (Mex)
* Investigate plant or equipment deficiencies that lead to out-of-spec finished goods
* Assist with ensuring BRC, and other customer standards are met
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals
* A proactive and enthusiastic attitude coupled with a great work ethic
* Mechanical Fitter Trade or equivalent
* Sound knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatic systems
* Repair, change and improve machinery while ensuring principles of HACCP & GMP are not compromised
* Strong fault finding and RCA skills with a proven focus on right first time
* Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and interpret machinery manuals
* Effective communication skills in speaking with cross functional teams and writing work order reports.
* Knowledge of basic electrical systems and components is an advantage.
* Welding, turning, sheet metal fabrication qualifications and skills are highly regarded
* Ability to work rotating rosters and weekends, this is a 4 on 4 off roster rotating 2 days 6am - 6pm and 2 night 6pm - 6am
* Ideally have automation experience, although not essential
