Why You’ll Want to Join Us As a Commercial Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of shaping growth and creating value. You’ll provide commercial insights and strategic support that directly influence win rates and profitability, while taking ownership of tariff reviews and contract renewals to keep our operations competitive. Your work will span evaluating new opportunities, preparing proposals and business cases, building financial models, and delivering market analysis that guides decision-making. You’ll also refine analytical tools that strengthen the way our team operates. How You’ll Make a Difference Reporting to the Regional Chief Commercial Officer, your key responsibilities will include: Analysing customer requirements, market trends, and competitor activity to guide commercial strategy and highlight opportunities and risks Monitoring performance and managing contractual obligations to ensure compliance and effectiveness Conducting annual reviews of port tariff structures and recommending adjustments Preparing accurate and timely rebate calculations, with a focus on optimising processes Supporting end-to-end tender processes including bid pricing, financial modelling, and proposal development tailored to customer needs Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Procurement, Fleet, Operations, HR, and HSSEQ to ensure commercial decisions are informed, balanced, and deliver the best outcomes Producing high-quality tender documentation and client-facing materials Conducting financial analysis and scenario modelling for new business opportunities Assisting with pipeline tracking and forecasting potential opportunities Developing and maintaining databases and analytical tools to support decision-making Contributing to ad-hoc projects and initiatives led by the Commercial team or Senior Leadership What You’ll Bring To thrive in this role, you’ll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field Proven experience in commercial analysis, bids, or business development, ideally with exposure to corporate finance, advisory, or investment banking Strong skills in financial modelling, data analysis and reporting, with advanced Excel proficiency Experience in pricing, revenue management, and use of tools such as Thinkcell, Visio, Project and AI platforms advantageous Commercial and strategic mindset with strong problem-solving ability High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to deliver under pressure Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills Ability to balance repetitive, detail-focused tasks with applying a creative and exploratory approach to other areas of work Resilient, curious and proactive, with persistence to follow through and comfort working with ambiguity Strong project management capability and proficiency across MS Office applications Maritime or logistics industry experience will be beneficial in understanding the operating environment and commercial dynamics Building a Diverse Workplace In Svitzer we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job – we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious beliefs.
