Do you have exceptional communication and people skills? Then the role of Leasing Officer within Statutory Planning Division is the job for you

The Statutory Planning Division is responsible for facilitating development outcomes across the ACT by assessing and determining development applications, administering environmental impact assessment processes, administering the ACT leasehold system, providing advice to the community and industry on development matters, and assisting the ACT Civil and Administrative Appeals Tribunal in its review of decisions and providing advice to the community and industry on development matters.

The Leasing Officer is responsible for receiving and determining unit title applications and collaborating internally to provide accurate and timely advice about unit plans to community and industry. The role will also require flexibility and adaptability to respond to a range of requests.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

* Experience in assessing and determining unit title applications under the unit title legislation, liaising with developers, analysing unit plans and surveys, as well as experience in reading and implementing legislation would be highly desirable.
* Experience in management of unit title applications in a team environment would be highly desirable.
* Qualifications or significant work experience in administering unit title applications law would be highly desirable.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 09 February 2026 to 07 August 2026 with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position is part-time at (10:00) hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times. This recruitment may be used to fill similar roles within the Division depending on best fit for candidate. This recruitment may be appointed based on application only.
