What You'll Be Doing
The SNSWLHD Child Wellbeing Coordinator leads, develops and manages the improvement of systems to support LHD services in recognising and responding to child safety, welfare and wellbeing concerns, including responsibilities around sharing information. The role has a high level clinical focus and also includes education and systems improvement responsibilities. You will assist in the development, delivery and evaluation of education and training programs for LHD staff, building capacity for staff to respond to the needs of vulnerable children and families. You will be one of the lead child protection educators in the LHD.
Selection Criteria
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Psychologist or relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or counselling with eligibility to the respective professional association.
* Demonstrated high level understanding and post‐graduate clinical experience of the inter‐related dynamics and effects of domestic violence, sexual assault and child protection, and best practice models for clients who have experienced trauma.
* Extensive experience in providing specialist consultation to staff regarding trauma‐informed service delivery and specialist knowledge of child protection and wellbeing principles, practices, legislation, NSW Health policy, procedures and guidelines.
* Experience in the development, planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of training programs, with a commitment to quality improvement and leading the implementation of evidence‐based, trauma‐focused service delivery.
* Demonstrated experience and commitment to service development, quality improvement and leading evidence‐based practice.
* Extensive knowledge, clinical proficiency and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, taking leadership in decision making, performing complex and critical clinical work with a high level of professional judgement.
* A demonstrated ability to build partnerships with key stakeholders to optimise health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
* Evidence of a current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to drive/travel as required by the role, including long distances and overnight stays.
