Overview of the Role
As an Apprentice Telecommunications Technician, you'll complete a Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology while learning on the job. You'll rotate through data, fibre, and electronic security installations alongside qualified technicians. The team is collaborative and supportive, with structured mentoring and clear standards. You'll gain real project exposure—commercial, government, and premium residential. This is an excellent entry point for someone who enjoys problem-solving, hands-on work, and building a long-term technical career.
About the Role
* Assist with installing communications, security, and data cabling to Australian standards (e.g., AS/CA S009).
* Support the commissioning of CCTV, access control, alarm, and intercom systems.
* Learn to terminate, test, and certify copper and fibre-optic cabling.
* Follow WHS procedures, use PPE correctly, and maintain tidy, safe sites.
* Record materials and work completed; prepare tools, parts, and job documentation.

Essentials
* Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (for apprenticeship funding).
* Current driver's licence (P-plate minimum) and reliable transport.
* Ability to pass a National Police Check (security-sensitive environments).
Desirables
* White Card (or willingness to obtain before start).
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.
* Any exposure to tools, cabling, fibre, or security systems.
