This branch focuses on the performance and structure of Australia's farm sector, identifies biosecurity risks and investigates policy responses. It also supports the data and analytical infrastructure underpinning all agricultural work.

The program aims to foster an inclusive, collaborative and innovative culture through high-quality research on current and emerging issues in agriculture.
Our mission is to collect detailed physical and financial information from farms throughout Australia, while protecting the confidentiality and security of this valuable data.
The Role
1. Lead a team of 25-30 survey collection officers and manage a small surveys team based in Canberra
2. Organize pre-survey activities including bi-annual training and logistical setup for in-person interviews with 2,300 participants annually
3. Manage survey collection activities including allocating collectors to locations, managing issues and tracking progress
4. Approve expenditure for collector travel and expenses, training, equipment and supplies
5. Coordinate pre and post survey activities such as mailouts of selection letters and co-operator reports
6. Contribute to planning and coordinating team operations to ensure goals and objectives are met
Requirements
We seek a highly skilled professional who can demonstrate:
* Experience leading a large team remotely
* Expertise in managing complex logistical operations like survey collection
* Knowledge of public sector finance and people management systems or similar
* A proven track record of successful project management and delivery
* Experience in farm surveys and/or Australian agriculture is highly desirable
