As a key member of the Library Services team, you’ll support the delivery of high‑quality, customer‑focused services while guiding and developing a high‑performing team.
What we’re looking for
You’re an approachable and motivated leader with strong experience in library operations, team supervision and delivering exceptional customer service. You’re confident coordinating day‑to‑day workflows, supporting staff, and finding solutions that enhance the customer experience. With well‑developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, you bring initiative, sound judgement and a collaborative mindset. You’re digitally confident, knowledgeable about library resources, and comfortable applying policies, procedures and industry standards to continuously improve services. You’ll also hold (or be working towards) ALIA‑accredited qualifications, have a current driver’s licence, and be able to obtain a Blue Card.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading and supporting front‑of‑house services across library locations
* Coordinating daily operations, staff supervision, rosters and workflow allocation
* Providing guidance to team members and applying library policies and procedures
* Responding to escalated customer enquiries and delivering service solutions
* Supporting collection management activities and readers’ advisory services
* Managing library spaces, assets and resources in line with Council policies
* Contributing to library programs, events and community engagement activities
* Preparing monthly reports, statistics and procurement requisitions
* Assisting with the development of library strategies, processes and improvement projects
* Ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with corporate systems
* Working collaboratively on operational and strategic initiatives as directed
