Select Civil is seeking an experienced Trade Assistant or a skilled, motivated, and experienced heavy plant mechanic to join our team at our workshop in Hampton Park, VIC.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in coordinating and implementing heavy plant repairs and maintenance, have sound computer literacy, a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude.
The candidate is expected to have strong technical knowledge of equipment Mechanical, Hydraulic & Electrical systems including hydraulic pumps and diagnostic systems and be able to work closely with other team members.

Responsibilities
* Plant & equipment repairs and maintenance.
* Fault finding and diagnostic skills
* Work as a team on project delivery including scheduling of components and works.
* Safe and quality repairs and maintenance and in compliance with manufacturers procedures and checklists.
* Ensure a strong focus on safe working practices.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
* Collaborate with other team members to schedule and prioritize equipment repairs and maintenance based on business and client needs
* Accurate record keeping of work performed, parts used and time spent
* Adhere to all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
* Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical) Diesel Fitter or Mobile Plant
* Proven experience in maintenance and repairs on various heavy machinery
* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
* Able to work independently or as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
