The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about uncovering stories and delivering news that matter?
7News Regional is seeking a driven, multi-skilled Journalist for our Mackay newsroom.
This is a great opportunity to work with Australian's leading broadcast media organisation and will give you the opportunity to improve your journalism skills and take another step in your career.
Reporting to the Supervising Producer, and based in tropical Mackay QLD, the successful applicant would be responsible for sourcing and writing broadcast news in our vital Mackay news market. Other key responsibilities include:

Generating original daily story ideas for on-air presentations
Interviewing, writing and voicing skills
Developing and maintaining contacts in the community
Research and prepare news reports
Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders

About You:
You are a talented and motivated self-starter who can effectively maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management practices. You possess creative mindset with energy, enthusiasm and a strong knowledge base in journalism.
You will have:

Proven experience writing news stories
Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications
Exceptional communication and written skills
The ability to work to very tight/ precise deadlines
An understanding in Broadcast Law Guidelines
