The Role Due to fast paced growth, Brennan's Cybersecurity practice is seeking a Senior Technical Consultant to join our Secure Network team in Canberra. As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will own the end-to-end delivery of high level/low level solution designs, consult with customers, lead projects and coordinate across teams. You will also provide thought leadership, guidance, and strategic advice to our customers on networking and cybersecurity matters.
Key Responsibilities
Develop high level and detailed solution designs that meet business and technical requirements
Lead delivery of complex solution components across multiple workstreams
Provide expert consulting, guiding clients through trade‑offs, decision points, and risk implications
Translate business needs into structured designs, requirements, and implementation guidance
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure the solution fits enterprise constraints and objectives
Mentor and guide junior staff through project delivery activities
Key Skills
Clear and concise communication
Attention to detail with the ability to discern checkbox compliance from security control intent and efficacy
A strong understanding of network and network security technologies such as:
Network concepts
Next‑Generation Firewalls: Fortinet or Palo Alto Networks
LAN and WLAN: Juniper, Aruba or Cisco
Datacentre networking: Juniper Apstra
SD‑WAN, SSE and SASE: Fortinet, Zscaler, Aruba
Network Access Control: Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass
Reverse Proxy, Server Load balancing and WAF: Cloudflare, F5 Big‑IP
