About the role
As a Crew Member, you will be part of a skilled and supportive team delivering a wide range of construction and maintenance works across the Central Coast. This is a physically active, outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, variety, and being part of a team that takes pride in delivering quality outcomes for the community.
No two days are the same – you may be involved in site preparation, concreting, pavement works, general labouring duties, and assisting with the safe and efficient delivery of construction projects.
Key activities of this role include:
* Undertaking general construction and labouring duties across a variety of civil works
* Assisting with concreting, pavements, formwork and site preparation activities
* Operating and using small plant, tools and equipment such as compactors, concrete saws, chainsaws and electrical tools
* Setting up, maintaining and cleaning work sites, including traffic control and safety measures
* Working collaboratively as part of a crew to meet daily work targets
* Providing a high level of customer service while working in public environments
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A General Induction Card (White Card) for Construction Works or equivalent
* A Class C Driver’s Licence
* Traffic Controller Licence
* A strong work ethic and willingness to undertake physical, hands‑on labouring work
* Previous experience in construction, civil works or outdoor labouring roles
* The ability to safely use hand tools and small plant equipment
* Experience in operation of or willing to operate road compaction rollers
* A positive attitude to teamwork, safety and learning new skills

Other important information
* The commencing salary for this position is up to $63.5K per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $73.5K on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
* We have a permanent full-time roles available
* This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
* This role is located at the Erina Works Depot
