Billet Engineering is seeking experienced First-Class Machinists and CNC Machinist to join our team in West Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for manufacturing a wide range of hydraulic cylinder and associated components from various surface and underground Mining equipment.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our manufacturing facility.
What you'll be doing
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to carry out required work
Operate a variety of manual and automated metalworking machines such as lathes
Carry out fault diagnosis, and corrective actions on various components
Fabricate and modify parts and components to meet specific requirements
Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement process improvements
Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
Ensure a safe work environment and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
What we're looking for
Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a First-Class Machinist in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Full Australian working rights and/or Visa with at least 12 months validity
Must live residentially or be willing to relocate.
