About The Role
Arts, Heritage and Libraries branch role is to enrich the lives of residents and visitors by providing arts and cultural leadership, opportunities, knowledge, development, connections and experience.
As the Library Collection Services Supervisor, you will lead collections and digital teams to deliver accessible and sustainable library collections and library systems to support seamless interactions between customers and library resources.
Key Duties
Effectively lead the Libraries Collections and Digital Services Team to ensure:
a strong customer focus and high quality outcomes.
A highly engaged and motivated team
A collaborative approach to delivery and change management.
Deliver a community-responsive library collection by leading the strategic development and procurement of resources across physical and digital formats to:
Ensure collections are diverse, current, and aligned with library service standards
Anticipate and meet community needs and aspirations, supporting established and emerging programs
Achieve compliance with Council procurement policies and industry best practice
Manage vendor contracts and develop relationships with suppliers to ensure all services and goods meet the agreed standards, contract requirements including key performance indicators and are delivered within pre-determined timeframes.
Provide effective financial management, including the preparation of an annual budgets and meet all targets, including the controlling, monitoring and administering of all income and expenditure across areas of responsibility.
Monitor developments in emerging and new technologies and collection development and proactively collect and analyse key data to both drive continuous improvement fulfil all reporting requirements for collections and digital services.
About You
You will demonstrate substantial knowledge and experience in the provision and development of customer focused collections and digital services.
You will have strong experience in managing procurement activities and vendor contracts in line with Council procurement policies and industry best practice.
You will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with particular emphasis in the areas of building effective relationships, consultation, negotiation, conflict resolution and assertiveness.
You will demonstrated experience in leading, developing and motivating work teams in an environment of continuous improvement and regular collaboration.
Substantial knowledge and experience working with the relevant policies, standards, tools and technology relevant to Library Collections
You will attain a tertiary qualifications in Librarianship, Community Development, Management or other related discipline
