About the role
This senior officer is responsible for developing and delivering targeted support to individuals, households and communities to strengthen disaster resilience and preparedness. You will work directly with communities and sector stakeholders to increase understanding of disaster impacts, promote preparedness and resilience measures, and support the psychosocial wellbeing of people affected by disasters.
What you will bring
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in disaster resilience, emergency management, community development or a related field.
* Strong skills in developing and facilitating training, workshops and community resources.
* Excellent communication, advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Sound analytical, evaluation and problem‐solving ability, with confidence using data to inform practice.
* The ability to work with autonomy, manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communities.
* Experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships across sectors.
* Relevant qualifications in emergency management, community development, social sciences or equivalent experience.
* Current Australian Driver's licence and Working with Children Check.
