The Environmental Clean Team is a small and diverse team of cleaners who provide high standard infection control cleaning services across the Launceston General Hospital. The E Team role focuses on discharge cleaning for infectious patient rooms to reduce the risk of transmitting infections.
The Role:
Perform infection control cleaning tasks across the hospital, wearing appropriate protective clothing, and using cleaning equipment and chemicals correctly, including maintenance and proper use of equipment and chemicals.
* Demonstrated sound knowledge of contemporary cleaning practices, especially relating to infection control and isolation precautions.
* Ability to work independently with well-developed organizational skills, exercising initiative, judgment, confidentiality, and discretion.
* Ability to provide guidance, training, and support to less experienced staff.

Details of appointment:
Fixed-term, casual position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that this selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies for up to twelve months from the date of publication.
Salary: $62,486 to $65,119 pro-rata per annum, with an additional 11.5% superannuation contribution.
* Salary in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria. Desirable criteria include a Certificate III in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations).
