Overview
The ECU Psychological Counselling Support (PCS) team is seeking a motivated and experienced Psychologist to provide individual and group counselling to current ECU students at our Joondalup and Mount Lawley Campuses – with the latter moving to become the City Campus in January 2026.
Due to the confidential nature of this service, current ECU Students will not be considered for the position.
Essential skills for this position include:
o Broad psychological counselling experience demonstrating knowledge and skills in assessing and treating adults with a broad range of psycho-social problems and disorders;
o Relevant experience and a keen interest in developing and running groups and workshops;
o Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work independently and as part of a broader psychological counselling team;
o Knowledge of and skills for working with cross-cultural issues in counselling;
o Experience in the development and implementation of proactive measures that assist in the preventation of mental health difficulties;
o Experience in a tertiary education setting would be an advantage, however, is not essential.

Minimum qualifications for the successful applicant will be full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Psychologists with five or more years’ experience in the field, OR those fully registered with AHPRA as a Psychologist with an approved area of practice in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and with more than three years specialist experience are encouraged to apply for a Senior Psychologist role.

Benefits & Remuneration
This ongoing 1.0 FTE position attracts remuneration of either $104,030 to $116,563 for the HEW 7 Psychologist role or $119,069 to $134,108 for the HEW 8 Senior Psychologist role (paid on a pro-rata basis) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
