Writer's Toolbox is a multi-award-winning Education Technology company, delivering writing improvement programmes to hundreds of schools globally and proven to achieve more than double national writing outcomes. One recent programme of work with Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) saw NAPLAN writing scores lift at rates eight-times the state of Queensland. With teams across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, Toolbox has an established programme that is gaining international reputation for its ability to deliver education transformation at scale using cutting-edge AI.

We are looking for a top-performing educator to lead the Australian arm of our business through this exciting phase of growth. This is a rare opportunity to combine your deep passion and drive in education with strong commercial acumen and an action-orientated mindset. You will likely be in school senior leadership or in a diocese or school network—have proven you can lead and deliver change—and keen to use your skills, network, and passion on a wider stage.

You should be passionate about education, especially to see literacy levels rise in Australia; familiarity and knowledge of the Writer's Toolbox programme is an advantage.

About the Role:

Our Australian Education Director is responsible for Writer's Toolbox Australian operation. As such, you play a pivotal role leading and driving the continued strategic growth and sustaining the level of educational excellence in the organisation already achieved. This is a hands-on, dynamic leadership opportunity for a proven high performer. Based in our Brisbane HQ, this is a full-time position with opportunities for career development and progression. No two days are the same: you could be meeting with a diocese, reviewing operational efficiency, supporting school leaders in client schools, speaking at a key conference.

What you'll be doing:

Responsible for the educational, financial and operational performance of our entire Australian business

Ensure Australian operations deliver sustained growth and exceptional service

Oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery aligned with the company's strategic objectives

Develop and implement robust business plans, budgets

Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing organisational culture

Represent the company at key events

Build and maintain influential relationships with key stakeholders

Monitor market trends and competitive landscape, identifying new growth opportunities

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and internal policies.

What we're looking for:

Extensive experience in school leadership

Proven track record of leading successful school transformation

Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams

Proactive and action orientated with a growth mindset

Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and influencing skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective business strategies

Tertiary qualifications in education and management

Values-led with a genuine commitment to purpose-driven work

A passion for making a difference in a pivotal sector of society.
