Senior Leadership Role | Not-for-Profit | Home & Community Care
Care Connect is entering an exciting and critical phase of growth and reform — and we're looking for an experienced, values-driven clinical leader to help shape the future of safe, high-quality care at home.
As Head of Clinical Governance and Quality, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our clinical and care services are safe, evidence-based, person-centred and compliant across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Working closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, this role provides leadership, assurance and strategic oversight at the heart of our organisation.
This is a full-time, permanent position, based at either our Abbotsford (VIC) or Bella Vista (NSW) site.
Why join Care Connect?
Care Connect is one of Australia's leading not-for-profit home care specialists, supporting people to live happily at home for life. Since 1994, we've partnered with tens of thousands of Australians, delivering personalised supports that enable confidence, connection and purpose.
Our work is guided by our CARE values — Collaboration & Courage, Authenticity, Respect and Excellence — and a genuine commitment to putting clients first. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a sector undergoing significant transformation.
About The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Clinical Governance and Quality is responsible for leading and strengthening clinical governance, quality, risk and assurance systems across the organisation.
This role bridges strategy and frontline practice — ensuring governance frameworks are not only compliant, but genuinely support better decision-making, continuous improvement and improved outcomes for people receiving care at home.
You'll lead a small, specialist team and work in close partnership with operational leaders to embed governance, quality and risk management into everyday care delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing organisational leadership for clinical governance, ensuring clear accountability, oversight and safe clinical practice
* Leading quality systems, accreditation, audits and performance monitoring
* Support continuous improvement practices
* Overseeing clinical risk management, incident management and open disclosure processes
* Building clinical governance capability across leaders and frontline teams
* Providing clear, meaningful reporting and assurance to the CEO, Executive and Board
* Fostering a culture of learning, transparency, ethical practice and continuous improvement
About You
You're a calm, credible and values-led senior leader with a strong clinical background and a passion for quality, safety and person-centred care. You're comfortable navigating complexity, influencing at executive and board level, and leading through change.
You'll bring:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (essential)
* Significant senior leadership experience in clinical governance, quality and risk, ideally within home care or aged care
* Strong knowledge of clinical governance frameworks, accreditation and regulatory requirements
* Proven experience leading organisation-wide improvement initiatives
* Excellent communication, analytical and influencing skills
* A collaborative, enabling leadership style with high integrity and sound clinical judgement
What We Offer
Postgraduate qualifications in clinical governance or quality are desirable.
* A full-time, permanent senior leadership role with real influence and purpose
* The opportunity to shape clinical governance during a time of sector reform
* Choice of base location: Abbotsford (VIC) or Bella Vista (NSW)
* A values-driven, not-for-profit organisation committed to quality and client outcomes
* Flexible working arrangements within core business hours, including WFH
* A supportive, collaborative executive team
Occasional evening, weekend and interstate travel may be required.
