LAUNCESTON PATHOLOGY
Status: Part time hours per week
Department: Specimen Reception Area
About The Role:
* Monday to Friday shifts between with participation in a weekend roster
* Data entry of pathology request forms using laboratory application software
* Sample handling and preparation for analysis for all sample types
* Answering phone enquiries, emails and in person enquiries
* Courier services with report delivery and sample pickup as required
* Maintain laboratory workplace safety
* Apply quality systems and continuous improvement processes
* Compliance with OH&S standards
* Other administrative tasks as directed
Selection Criteria:
1. A keen eye for detail and exceptional accuracy in data transfer operations
2. Well developed general administrative skills and computer literacy skills
3. Must possess Australian work rights
4. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
5. Ability to work shifts as required Monday to Friday and occasional rostered weekends
6. Ability to act independently within established laboratory protocols demonstrating sound analytical judgement
7. Previous laboratory experience will be advantageous
8. An unrestricted Australian drivers licence
9. An understanding of and commitment to privacy and confidentiality requirements in a medical setting
