About The Role
The Central Referral Unit (CRU) receives speciality appointment requests from within the greater WMH community for a range of services, including Specialist Outpatients Department (SOPD), Preventative Integrated Care Service (PICS), Allied Health, and Obstetric and Gynaecology Services. This service incorporates reviewing these referrals and ensuring adequate clinical compliance, assigning a provisional clinical category, and progressing to the speciality triaging clinician. Awareness of the SOSIS, CPC and other guidelines relating to the processing of referrals and outpatient standards are beneficial within this role.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
* Demonstrated knowledge or demonstration of research into the Central Referral Unit processes and Specialist Outpatient Services Implementation Standards (SOSIS) guidelines that govern the unit, while delivering expert clinical evaluation and providing support and direction to other team members.
* Demonstrated knowledge or demonstration of research into the Clinical Prioritisation Critera (CPC) Guidelines applied by West Moreton Health and the application to patient referral pathways.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver quality clinical direction, whilst working within a risk management framework and in accordance with professional standards.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of customer service.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
* Demonstrated ability to participate in the multidisciplinary team to identify areas for improvement in work practices and outcomes and contribute to the continued improvement of policies and procedures.
Mandatory Requirements
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
