The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) Technician is responsible for processing and completing work orders, installing new HVAC systems, troubleshooting mechanical failures, and performing equipment maintenance. You may also be required to advise on equipment upgrades and alternate systems.
Displays an in-depth knowledge of the HVAC industry.
Inspects products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards.
Ability to examine, evaluate and develop solutions.
Understands and implements quality control techniques and is responsible for the quality of their work and is able to identify faults in the work of others at this or lower levels.
Provides guidance and assistance as part of a work team.
Thorough understanding of codes and regulations.
Thorough understanding of work scope and ability to plan work to achieve desired outcomes.
Identifies and initiates relevant action to obtain materials, tools and machinery requirements for a particular job.
Selects materials and operates machinery and/or equipment to produce articles in accordance with trade standards.
Conducts general repairs and maintenance where necessary or instructed.
Performance of non-trade tasks incidental to their work.
Exercises high precision trade skills using various materials and/or specialised techniques; and exercises skills involved in the installation, repair, maintenance, testing, modifying, fault finding, design or commissioning of HVAC systems.
Observes and tests newly installed systems.
Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development at all times.
