Join our dynamic team at Bundaberg Hospital as a Senior Occupational Therapist (Frailty Virtual). In this innovative role, you'll provide advanced clinical care to older adults experiencing frailty through a virtual and home-based model of care. You'll lead and mentor staff, contribute to service development, and play a key role in delivering person-centred care whilst being in a supportive workplace and making a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of our community.
Your Opportunity:
* To deliver high level occupational therapy clinical services and professional expertise to patients identified for the rapid access geriatrician-led model of care.
* Work autonomously within the multidisciplinary team to manage, coordinate and provide optimal, responsive and flexible Occupational Therapy services in acute, community, and virtual settings.
* This position will focus on preventing inappropriate or avoidable admissions by supporting the needs of the patient, their family, and significant others through sub-acute supports in the home environment.
* This role is a short sub-acute service (up to 14 days) to provide intervention in the home environment to reduce the need for hospitalisation and facilitate reablement through improvements to function in the home environment.
Temporary Part Time (53.2 hours p.f.) from date of appointment for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension
What we're looking for:
* Demonstrated ability to provide high level Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills with work of a complex nature, where established principles, procedures and methods require expansion, adaptation, or modification, with infrequent need for direct supervision.
* An extensive knowledge of medical, surgical, and cognitive conditions which impact on a person's functional ability to live in the community and demonstrated ability to use this knowledge to assist patient's to safely remain within their own home.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, using high level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills for effective verbal and written communication with interdisciplinary team staff, clients, and families/carers.
* Demonstrated effective time management skills to prioritise clients across both acute and community settings to provide essential occupational therapy service.
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical and operational supervision and support to less experienced staff.
* A broad understanding of the continuum of care spanning from the acute inpatient to the community setting including the impact of Government and Non-Government agencies and services that are within the Bundaberg Health Service.
Preferred Qualifications:
* The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Allied Health Professional Registrations Agency (AHPRA) or membership with the relevant allied health registration board and/or professional body.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
* A relevant qualification would also be well regarded; may include cognitive impairment related training and Functional Independence Measure (FIM) training.

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $157,360 p.a., comprising salary between $128,169 - $137,918 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.)
