Overview
We are seeking a Corporate Sous Chef to join our Office Operations team to be based in Brisbane.
In this role, you will assist with the daily operation of the kitchen, including the preparation of breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas, lunches, formal lunches and dinners, cocktail events, after-hours meals, sandwiches, and other catering requirements.
You will ensure the provision of catering on the client floor is delivered to the highest standard for Partners, Clients, and Staff of Herbert Smith Freehills.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help plan menus that are well-balanced, seasonally appropriate, and aligned with budget allocations.
You will also ensure dietary options are clearly listed and available for clients and staff with specific requirements.
You will liaise with the Head Chef regarding daily, weekly, and monthly catering requirements and assist in planning workflow accordingly.
You\'ll also collaborate with kitchen staff to support daily operations, foster positive working relationships, and contribute to the development and monitoring of team KPIs.
Responsibilities
Assist with the daily operation of the kitchen and support catering requirements for breakfasts, teas, lunches, dinners, events, and after-hours meals.
Ensure catering on client floors is delivered to the highest standard for Partners, Clients, and Staff.
Assist with menu planning to be well-balanced, seasonally appropriate, and within budget.
Ensure dietary options are clearly listed and available for clients and staff with specific requirements.
Liaise with the Head Chef on daily, weekly, and monthly requirements and help plan workflow.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to support daily operations and monitor team KPIs.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a Sous Chef or a Chef de Partie.
Ability to supervise staff and give direction.
Vast knowledge of food preparation.
Knowledge of current and future food trends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle pressure.
Flexibility with regard to overtime for morning and evening functions.
