The Opportunity

TAMS Group is seeking experienced and motivated Project Engineer to join our team Port Hedland team. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic business, with a strong focus on relationships and employee satisfaction with great career development opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

* Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and site teams on engineering matters, temporary works, scheduling, and progress tracking to ensure project objectives are met.
* Interpret engineering documentation and provide technical advice to support safe and accurate execution of works.
* Assist with the planning and management of project resources (labour, plant, subcontractors) in line with the construction program.
* Monitor construction progress, cost, and resourcing against project schedules and performance targets; identify and recommend corrective actions where required.
* Participate in tender evaluations and subcontractor assessments, providing input on engineering and constructability aspects.
* Verify design and fabrication of temporary works prior to implementation and assist with progressive audits and inspections in line with project requirements.
* Liaise with the Head Office Engineering team to resolve technical queries and align engineering deliverables with project needs.
* Contribute to the review and continual improvement of project methodologies, inspection practices, and quality outcomes across assigned projects.
* Work co-operatively with others and support a team environment.

Key Requirements

* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
* 3 - 5 years of relevant industry experience in project engineering roles.
* Strong technical understanding of engineering principles, project delivery frameworks, and lifecycle planning.
* Demonstrated ability to support the delivery of complex projects from concept through to completion.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering/project software (e.g. AutoCAD, MS Project, or equivalent).
* Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation, specifications, and quality requirements.
* Sound problem-solving and analytical skills, with a practical mindset for addressing project and site-based challenges.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Current C Class Driver's Licence.

Applicants with the below will be highly regarded

* Previous experience in a project engineering role in civil or marine environment.
* Familiarity with project management software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera).
* Previous exposure to risk management and mitigation practices.
* Understanding of budgeting and financial controls in project environments.
* Experience supporting tender and procurement processes.
* MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card).
* Construction Induction (White Card).
