About the role
We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have a new opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Pilbara Fleet & Assets Team. The role will operate on an 8 days on 6 days off roster, all accommodation, meals and transport will be provided whilst on shift. This role will operate, FIFO from Perth.
Reporting to the Fleet & Asset Supervisor, the Mechanical Fitter will provide breakdown technical support and maintenance for all of Orica's mobile plant and equipment on site.

What you will be doing
* Assisting Orica site with mobile and fixed plant breakdown support (Volvo or Scania experience is advantageous)
* General servicing of all mobile and fixed plant and machinery
* Schedule servicing, repairs, alterations and breakdown maintenance
* Assist Site Managers in the management of a maintenance plan for the equipment at the site
* Knowledge and adherence to relevant procedures, statutory requirements and codes
* Continually reassess risks associated with operation and maintenance processes taking appropriate corrective action as required
* Participate in safety programs and promote safe work practice
What you will bring
* Trade certification in Heavy Road Transport
* Previous experience working on heavy machinery or mobile plant (advantageous)
* For HV Mechanics, auto electrical knowledge is advantageous
* Strong written and verbal communication, customer relations and problem‑solving skills
* Driver's license required
* Ability to attain a Heavy rigid dangerous goods vehicle license
* Ability to attain a National police clearance
* Ability to attain Confined space and Working at heights certification
* Self‑motivated worker with a strong attitude to safety and quality of service
