**The Opportunity**
- The Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring successful implementation of construction/ site activities within their allocated projects to the satisfaction of contract requirements, in relation to:
- Avoidance of harm to personnel and the environment,
- Provision of quality products and services,
- Delivering in accordance with approved construction schedules, &
- Delivering in accordance with approved construction budgets.
- Site Supervisors work on rosters that meet operational needs and may be required to work shifts, weekends and from time to time to travel and work at locations outside their base.
**Key responsibilities include**
- Ensure construction/ site activities are delivered to the highest safety standards, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
- Plan and stage construction/ site work, often within an operating railway environment.
- Manage day-to-day construction/ site activities as directed with high attention to detail, including facilitating prestart meetings.
- Plan,coordinate and perform any logistics activities required to support construction/ site activities, including unloading and loading tasks.
- Manage site security, site services, site facilities, materials inventory and the avoidance of loss, damage and theft of property.
- Forecast the resources (personnel, plant, and equipment) required to deliver construction/ site activities.
- Monitor physical progress of work and perform reporting as required.
- Liaise directly with contractors/ suppliers to maintain high-quality, collaborative, productive relationships with aligned interests.
- Investigation activities as required in response to safety, environmental and quality issues, including the collection of investigation information and distribution to relevant parties as directed.
- Maintain a safe and healthy workplace and adhere to company policies, applicable laws, regulations and standards.
- Ensure that construction/ site activities are committed to the highest standard in OH&S and the environment.
- Perform construction/ site administration tasks as required to perform the role.
- Ensure compliance with all record-keeping requirements.
- Interface with other business and project functions as required.
- Undertake any ad-hoc projects, initiatives, and tasks as directed.
- Monitor the workload and progress of workers to ensure the most effective use of resources.
- Ensure contractors/suppliers are sourced, assessed, employed, managed and supervised following UGL's HSSE and procurement requirements.
**Requirements to be successful**
- Minimum 2 years' experience supervising electrical &/or civil construction activities on project sites within the transport sector.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Demonstrated ability to deploy strong communication skills (oral & written) including negotiation and influencing skills to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels of an organisation.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to adapt to different environments, to learn and use new skills and knowledge, and to implement and follow process.
- Experience gained in the rail, automotive, military, defense, avionics or any other safety critical environment.
