Job Description:
This role requires a Field Engineer to provide project support with work planning, material management, quantity verification, and safety control. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely and meet quality standards.
* The ideal candidate will have construction or mining experience and knowledge of SMP engineering methods and processes.
* Familiarity with MS Office applications and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations are essential.
About the Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for:
* Preparing construction drawings and sketches
* Reviewing SMP work packages
* Verifying quantities on tracking systems
* Safeguarding against accidents and maintaining quality standards
Main Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Work Planning & Packaging: Prepare construction drawings and sketches, review SMP work packages, and input quantity takeoffs.
2. Material Management: Initiate requisitions for field purchases and prepare quantity takeoffs.
3. Quantities: Verify commodities on tracking systems or other computer database systems.
4. Safety / Quality Control: Ensure zero-accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area.
5. Technical: Participate in the Project Technical Request process as it relates to SMP works, coordinate and resolve technical issues, verify installed field works with regards to the approved design and relevant standards.
6. System Turnover: Develop a firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings for SMP works, participate in Construction Punchlist walkdowns for SMP systems.
7. Subcontractors: Review and approve SMP inspection test plans, coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* A bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
* Construction or mining experience.
* Knowledge of SMP engineering methods and processes.
* Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common applications used in the construction industry.
* Ability to problem-solve in high-pressure situations.
