We are working with a client who is responsible for being the peak body for solicitors in Canberra to represent them and ensure they are adhering to and promoting high standards of legal practice for the protection of the public. Essentially, helping drive the legal industry in the right direction in a changing society.
We are on the lookout for a Communications and Events Manager to join our client's team. In this integral role within the business, you will be at the forefront of developing and delivering impactful communication materials and managing their event program. We are looking for someone who possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills, thrives in a small team environment, and excels in adapting to changing and competing priorities.
But that is not all In this role, you will be responsible for developing relevant, informative, and engaging communications that resonate with our clients' members and stakeholders to ensure that messages are effectively communicated. You will be responsible for producing major publications, including their quarterly magazine and annual reports. Your creativity and attention to detail will be crucial in delivering high-quality content that showcases the achievements of the legal community in Canberra.
This is a pivotal role in maintaining our client's online presence, including the website and social media platforms. This means that we are looking for somebody with skills in digital communication who will enhance engagement and keep our clients' members and stakeholders connected with the Canberra community. This role will also see you be a point of contact for media liaison activities, such as monitoring media, writing press releases, preparing spokespeople for interviews, writing speeches, and building positive relationships with journalists. Finally, you'll take charge of events programs, oversee marketing efforts, and develop communication products that generate excitement and engagement among attendees.
To be a successful applicant for this role, you will have qualifications in communications or equivalent professional experience that has honed your exceptional writing and editing skills. Be proficient in using tools such as the Adobe suite especially Indesign and the Microsoft suite including SharePoint to create visually compelling and engaging content. Finally, if you demonstrate a strong organizational ability and a keen eye for detail to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, this will make you stand out from the crowd.
