We are seeking an experienced P&C Operations Manager to partner closely with executive leadership and operational teams to drive the delivery of People & Culture operations and oversee the execution of core HR functions across the business.
The role provides both operational leadership and hands‐on management across HR operations, employee relations, workforce planning, reporting, and systems. You will act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, ensuring people practices align with business objectives while maintaining compliance with Australian employment legislation.
The role will also play a key role in supporting organisational growth, managing workforce transitions, and fostering a high‐performance and positive workplace culture. It will strengthen systems and processes, improve operational efficiency, and use workforce data and insights to support informed decision‐making.
Duties
P&C Operations & Business Partnering
Partner with senior leaders to align P&C delivery with business objectives
Lead and manage end‐to‐end HR operations (onboarding, contracts, lifecycle)
Establish structured processes, workflows, and templates
Ensure consistent and high‐quality delivery of core P&C activities
Strategic HR & Leadership Support
Provide advice and coaching on workforce planning, organisational design, and talent development
Lead people initiatives to strengthen engagement, performance, and capability
Drive continuous improvement across HR processes, systems, and ways of working
Employee Relations & Performance
Act as a trusted advisor on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary processes
Support and embed performance management frameworks
Coach leaders on performance, development, and workplace matters
Workforce Planning, Reporting & Insights
Monitor workforce metrics including headcount, labour costs, overtime, turnover, and productivity
Support workforce planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Analyse data and use numbers to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Translate workforce data into clear, practical insights to support business decisions
Workforce Transitions & Change
Lead restructures, redundancies, and workforce changes in a compliant and practical manner
Support leaders through organisational change while minimising risk and maintaining engagement
Conduct exit interviews and analyse insights to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Compliance & HR Governance
Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, NES, EBAs, and Modern Awards
Oversee employment contracts, policies, and employee records
Provide guidance on EBA and Award interpretation
Monitor employee relations trends, turnover data, and workforce metrics to inform proactive actions
Support the implementation and ongoing management of HR policies, procedures, and best practice frameworks
Maintain consistent and compliant HR practices
Lead HR system improvements and optimisation initiatives
Improve data integrity and reporting capability
Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
Leadership
Lead and develop the P&C operations team

Key Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
8–12+ years of HR experience, including senior and leadership roles
Minimum 5+ years' experience leading HR or operational teams
Strong experience across HR operations, employee relations, and industrial relations
Demonstrated experience managing EBAs and complex industrial relations matters
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation (Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, NES)
Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence business decisions
Advanced analytical capability, with experience using workforce data and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI)
Strong commercial acumen with understanding of workforce cost drivers
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and provide clear guidance
Experience in manufacturing, mining, or similar operational environments preferred
AHRI membership or certification
Experience in transformation or growing organizations
Experience leading HR systems or process improvement initiatives
