About the Role
This is a full-time, 12 month fixed term maternity leave contract based 5 days a week out of their offices in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities:
This Payroll Officer role sits in a small, hands-on finance team and takes ownership of payroll across both Australia and a smaller offshore group. You will manage end to end processing for roughly 500 local staff, working across multiple awards and plenty of compliance detail, along with monthly payroll for teams in Qatar and the Philippines. Most of the workflow runs through Employment Hero and Xero, with regular reporting, reconciliations and close collaboration with HR to keep everything accurate and on time. There is steady support from the Finance Manager and an Accounts Assistant, but this role suits someone who is confident running the function day to day and keeping the numbers clean.
About You
You're an experienced Payroll Officer who is comfortable working across award based environments, ideally with exposure to NDIS, aged care or health. You know your way around Xero and Employment Hero, have a solid handle on tax, PAYG and super, and you're confident managing large casual workforces and tricky rates. You're organised, good with spreadsheets, and calm when things get busy. A relevant qualification and strong communication skills will help you work closely with finance, HR and frontline teams, and you bring a professional, ethical approach to compliance, accuracy and confidentiality. You're someone who takes ownership of your work, adapts quickly and contributes positively to a team that values care, honesty and continuous improvement.
