As the Manager, you will lead the delivery of high-quality statutory and strategic planning services that preserve the important environmental qualities of the area while supporting a thriving regional economy.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Planning & Development, you will provide professional leadership across a diverse portfolio, including development assessment, strategic planning, environmental health, and biosecurity.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead & Mentor: Manage a team of 8 direct reports, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
* Strategic Advice: Provide expert planning advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Council.
* Governance: Oversee regulatory and compliance functions to ensure transparent and robust decision-making.
* Engagement: Represent the Council in community engagement and inter-agency forums.
* Financial Oversight: Develop, monitor, and manage the team budget in accordance with approved financial delegations.
* Legislative Compliance: Ensure Council meets all obligations under planning and regulatory legislation, applying principles of procedural fairness and risk-based decision-making.
About You
You are an experienced planner and leader who thrives on variety and community connection.
You bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in statutory and strategic planning within local government.
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.

* Analytical Thinker: You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by sound digital literacy.
* Effective Communicator: You can present complex information to a range of audiences and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Casual Loading
