Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Accessories Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automotive accessories design, combined with technical proficiency in injection moulding, bracket and fastener systems, and electrical integration within modern vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and development of OEM automotive accessories from initial concept through prototyping, validation, and release to production.
* Collaborate with NSV's global engineering network to ensure core NSV design philosophies and technical standards are integrated into all Australian developments.
* Identify and communicate product opportunities that may have shared applicability across other NSV global markets.
* Generate and manage high-quality 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and BOMs using industry-standard software (e.g. Fusion 360).
* Utilize 3D scanning and reverse engineering tools for vehicle integration studies, prototype validation, and design enhancement.
* Design components and assemblies using injection moulding, metal brackets, fasteners, and integrated vehicle electrical systems.
* Ensure all designs meet Australian Design Rules (ADRs), OEM specifications, and global automotive standards.
* Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and customers to ensure manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and quality.
* Participate in and lead QA activities, prototype validation, as well as Production Part Approval Process activities as required.
* Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and technology advancements to drive innovation.
* Mentor junior engineers or contractors as the local team grows.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive accessory or component design for OEM or Tier 1 suppliers.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and PLM systems.
* Demonstrated experience in using 3D scanning tools and techniques for integration and reverse engineering.
* Deep understanding of injection moulding design, DFM/DFA principles, and assembly methods using automotive-grade fasteners and brackets.
* Experience integrating electrical components and systems into vehicle architecture.
* Sound knowledge of ADRs and other relevant automotive standards.
* Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently in a start-up environment while maintaining strong collaboration with global counterparts.
