About the Company

The Safe & Together Institute is a fully remote, family-friendly social-impact enterprise with over 20 years of experience transforming how systems and professionals respond to domestic abuse in families with children. Our work challenges and changes the status quo—advancing safety and well-being for adult and child survivors while helping systems become more effective and accountable.

Our Safe & Together™ Model keeps children safe and together with protective parents by centering survivor safety, perpetrator accountability, and systemic responsibility. You’ll lead product strategy and delivery for our international portfolio — designing solutions that work across languages, systems, and cultures.

Supported by research and adopted by organizations such as the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Recent York State child protection agency, and the Scottish national government, the Model’s effectiveness for First Nations and other historically marginalized communities has been consistently affirmed by research and community feedback.

As a double bottom-line organization, we measure success by our ability to serve both our beneficiaries—survivors, their children, families, and communities—and our customers—the governments, NGOs, and professionals who implement the Model.

Now transitioning from a training organization to a systems change organization, we are integrating evidence, technology, and partnerships to embed the Model across agencies and sectors. Building on our strong foundation—train-the-trainer programs, e-learning, live training, and custom course development—we are ready to scale our impact.

We seek a seasoned, mission-driven Product Manager to lead this next phase of growth. Working closely with the CEO and founder, you will shape S&TI;’s first comprehensive product vision and strategy. You’ll collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts, centering the experiences of survivors and communities while balancing client needs, business goals, and model fidelity. We are committed to customer success and building lifetime customer value – measured by social impact and financial metrics.

We value curiosity, listening, relationships, and innovation—and yes, we appreciate a good dad joke, too.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Product Leadership
- Develop and own the product vision, roadmap, and strategy across all delivery formats (live, digital, blended, and custom).
- Align product strategy with S&TI;’s mission, strategic decision-making framework, and transition toward systems change.
- Establish clear criteria for evaluating new product opportunities, including market and cultural fit, beneficiary and social impact, client demand, profitability, and go‑to‑market readiness.
- Champion innovation and experimentation while ensuring the rigor and integrity of the Safe & Together Model framework.

- Instructional Design & Development Excellence

- Establish and manage a structured, end‑to‑end content development process that reduces timelines, elevates quality, ensures fidelity to the Safe & Together Model, and maintains alignment with client and learner needs.
- Integrate leading instructional design approaches to deliver learning experiences that are engaging, evidence‑based, and adaptable across diverse professional and cultural contexts.
- Facilitate agile design and co‑creation workshops that bring together internal and external subject matter experts—including survivors, practitioners, customers and other stakeholders—to translate thought concept into practical, high‑impact learning.
- Leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline production, enhance learner engagement, personalize pathways, and enable continuous improvement while upholding ethical and survivor‑informed design principles.
- Continuously evaluate and refine learning solutions based on data, user feedback, and impact metrics to ensure products drive measurable improvements in professional behavior, system accountability, and family outcomes.

- Team & Capacity Building

- Lead, and mentor the product development team, ensuring effective use of instructional design, internal and external SMEs, and creative resources.
- Position instructional design as a strategic, evidence‑driven function—a core driver of learning excellence, not merely production support.
- Partner with internal and external SME, beneficiaries, key stakeholders to integrate thought leadership, lived experience, and Model fidelity into every product while ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability.

- Market Expansion & Localization

- Refine and execute a focused market strategy centered on five priority countries and three to four high‑impact customer segments, aligning product investments with organizational OKRs and system‑change potential.
- Adapt and scale products within these markets to ensure cultural and contextual relevance, working closely with local partners, practitioners, and community leaders to maintain authenticity and Model fidelity.
- Lead localization efforts that go beyond translation—embedding cultural knowledge, survivor perspectives, and local practice realities into learning design and product delivery.
- Build scalable frameworks for replication across new markets once core regions demonstrate measurable impact and sustainable growth.

- Collaboration & Leadership

- Foster cross‑functional alignment by partnering with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure product strategy drives both mission impact and business growth.
- Act as the bridge between SMEs, designers, beneficiaries, and clients, translating complex expertise into clear, actionable product outcomes that exceed expectations.
- Model collaborative, values‑based leadership that prioritizes curiosity, listening, and cultural humility while championing innovation and beneficiary‑centered design that works for our clients and customers.

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable global team.

We value the leadership and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in keeping families safe and connected, and we seek to learn from and work alongside communities in Australia and globally.
