- Salvos Stores is looking for a motivated Full-Time Permanent Driver located in Fyshwick.
Reporting directly to the Logistics Supervisor you will ensure that donated goods are recycled correctly and efficiently, and that every customer leaves with a good experience. Join The Salvation Army and rest assured that your career contribution is making a real difference in the lives of others.
- ABOUT THE ROLE
Working independently, you will you have good communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills to assist you with;
- Loading/unloading loose goods, including furniture items together with a jockey;
- Distribution of goods to local stores and assisting retail staff where required;
- Presenting a professional work environment and positive customer experience;
- Maintaining safe WHS methods and driving practices;
- Completing pre-start checks, reporting incidents, near misses and vehicle maintenance issues;
- Conducting general warehouse duties, eg, processing donations, picking and packing, cleanliness, etc;
- ABOUT YOU
Previous experience in multi-drop, courier or furniture removal, while highly regarded, is not essential. What is essential is a Driver's license, reliability and a can-do attitude.
You will be a well presented, high energy, hands-on individual and will bring your proven track record in providing extraordinary customer service to the role. You will have experience in safe preparation, loading and unloading of goods. Importantly, as someone known for your integrity, you will also be comfortable aligning to The Salvation Army Mission and Values.
Applicants must be able to work with limited supervision and demonstrate;
- Minimum 1 years' driving experience operating a medium rigid vehicle (MR License Required);
- Current Australian drivers license and a Medium Rigid license.
- Confident driving skills and a proven safety ;
- Multi-drop, courier and/or furniture removal experience, an advantage;
- Reasonable written and oral communication skills;
- Organisational and problem solving skills;
