Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized Payroll Officer to take on key responsibilities in payroll operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of fortnightly payroll and job cost reports, compliance payments, month-end procedures, monthly reports, Workers Compensation reconciliations, employee personnel file management, union liaison, superannuation contributions, and budget contract start-ups including Master Timesheets, EBA, Awards and Rate Increases.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fortnightly payroll and job cost report completion within required timeframes.
* Ensuring timely reporting of all compliance payments to the payroll manager.
* Following established month-end procedures.
* Preparing and submitting monthly reports in a timely manner.
* Reconciling month-end Workers Compensation records.
* Managing employee personnel files and documentation.
* Liaising with unions as necessary.
* Preparing and submitting quarterly superannuation contributions.
* Filing payroll batches and employee personal documents.
* Assisting with budget contract start-ups including Master Timesheets, EBA, Awards and Rate Increases.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel (Vlookup and Pivot tables).
* Experience in accounting packages and knowledge of ERP systems an advantage.
* Ability to interpret Awards, rates, and conditions.
* Experience in payroll reconciliation and reporting.
* UKG Ready experience highly desirable.
* Skills in problem solving, analysis, and presentation.
