Bus Driver / Station Assistant - Maryborough West

Job Summary
As a Bus Driver / Station Assistant you'll drive a bus between Maryborough West and Hervey Bay, drive a company vehicle to Howard Station for cleaning and maintenance duties, and work with a small team to support station operations. This temporary full‐time position runs until June 2028.
Key Responsibilities
* Convey passengers between Maryborough West and Hervey Bay
* General cleaning and maintenance duties at Maryborough and Howard Stations (e.g. cleaning, mowing, whipper snipping)
* Assist customers and handle luggage
* Make platform announcements and manage the platform
* Report any safety concerns
* Operate station machinery and equipment
* Perform additional duties as requested by the Supervisor
Schedule & Travel
Regular travelling between Maryborough West, Hervey Bay, and Howard is required. Work shifts rotate across morning, day, and night shifts on a roster, typically between 04:00 and 22:00. The role requires weekend and public holiday work, plus occasional travel to Brisbane and Rockhampton for training.

Qualifications
* The ability to work independently and in a team
* Strong communication skills and a customer‐focused attitude
* Ability to work safely and follow directions given
* Ability to undertake a variety of manual handling tasks including cleaning and lifting up to 20 kilograms
* Previous experience driving a bus or operating yard machinery is highly desirable
* Ability to travel within your position
* Hold a current 'MR' Drivers licence – mandatory
* Candidate must obtain the required certificate at their own cost prior to employment if not currently held
