About the role
This Psychiatry position is based within a major tertiary referral hospital in North Queensland, servicing a population of approximately 700,000 people. The facility provides a comprehensive range of specialist services and maintains strong academic links with James Cook University, including active participation in research and clinical trials.
Mental health services deliver recovery-focused care across a variety of settings, including inpatient units, community services, residential rehabilitation, and supported accommodation. Care is provided by experienced multidisciplinary teams working collaboratively with community organisations.
This role presents an opportunity to take on a leadership position within the Adult Mental Health Service. You will manage a clinical caseload while supporting service delivery across inpatient, community, and outreach environments. The role also involves engagement in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate clinicians.
