An excellent opportunity for a Senior Payroll Officer Opportunity join a well-established organisation operating within the construction sector. This role will see you take ownership of payroll processing across a large workforce while working closely with finance and HR stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant payroll outcomes.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will join a supportive finance team and play a key role in maintaining efficient payroll operations while supporting future business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end payroll processing for approximately 100 weekly-paid construction employees and 600 fortnightly salaried employees
* Manage payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders
* Process superannuation, allowances, leave entitlements, terminations, and payroll adjustments
* Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance across all pay cycles
* Maintain payroll records and reporting requirements
* Assist with payroll forecasting and workforce growth planning
* Work collaboratively with finance and HR teams to ensure smooth payroll operations
* Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies
About You
* Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll across both weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles
* Previous experience within the construction industry
* Strong understanding of Modern Awards, site-based employment conditions, and payroll compliance requirements
* Sound knowledge of superannuation, leave legislation, and payroll-related obligations
* Highly organised with excellent time management skills
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict payroll deadlines
* Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
* Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
