The Role
As an Education Assistant – Special Needs you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs and work with individual students or groups under teacher direction. You are expected to be friendly, approachable, flexible and genuinely interested in supporting students with high educational needs. You will take personal responsibility for your impact and model calm, regulated and compassionate behaviour, especially during moments of challenge. You will engage in feedback and coaching, view growth as a shared endeavour, and have a growth mindset. You should be caring, proactive, responsive and able to collaborate in a team environment. You will build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and community members. The school is a Positive Behaviour School and staff model the three behaviour expectations – being safe, respectful and trying their best.
Eligibility
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
* Consent to and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
