* Investigate and Develop strategies for improvements to the road network in conjunction with Strategic Planning and Traffic Sections to ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic and to provide for pedestrian/cyclist safety and the enhancement of residential amenity
* Review concept or detail engineering designs and cost estimates for specific contribution and major projects to current design requirements (e.g., Transport for NSW, Austroads and supplements, etc) Provide technical advice on road safety, design, and traffic management matters
* Review developer plans and attend the Local Traffic Committee.
* Provide technical advice on the impacts that CCC, other Government Authorities and private developments have on the local road network, engineering facilities and adjoining properties and report on these issues as required
About The Role
The Traffic and Transport Engineer is responsible for contributing to the functioning of the Engineering Certification and Development Engineering Sections within Development Assessment through reviewing Traffic Impact Assessments and other traffic engineering information for development, planning and strategic proposals.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
* Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional development;
* Current Class C Driver's Licence;
* Construction General Induction Card.

Other Important Information
* The commencing salary for this position is up to $1,854.27 per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $2,148.45 on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus, 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance and 12% superannuation
* We have a permanent full-time role available
* This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
* We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
* This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council's Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
