About The Opportunity
The Production Engineer within Austal's Engineering Program Delivery team plays a key role ensuring the successful delivery of naval and commercial shipbuilding programs. The position is responsible for bridging engineering designs with manufacturing processes, supporting production teams to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives, and ensuring engineering solutions are practical, efficient, and compliant with regulatory and safety standards.

What's Involved
Review technical drawings, specifications and plans
Provide practical solutions to resolve production issues and design constraints
Support production teams
Develop, implement, and refine production processes
Identify opportunities for process automation and integration of new technologies
Conduct root cause analysis for production challenges and implement corrective solutions
You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
And or demonstrated 10 plus years trade qualified, experience in production trade engineering within shipbuilding, defence, heavy manufacturing, or similar industry
Strong knowledge of fabrications, assembly, and manufacturing processes
Ability to review technical drawings and specifications to identify and resolve production related issues
Competent using CAD software
