As a Senior Health Professional – Mental Health, you'll play a vital role in providing specialist assessment and therapeutic care to young people and their families in the Wheatbelt, based in Northam. Working with a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver recovery‐focused interventions, coordinate care with community partners, and support carers as part of a truly integrated service. The role offers professional challenge, senior clinical practice, and the benefits of country living.

About the opportunity

Assessment, planning and delivery of clinical care with young people and their families for whom responsibility is allocated. Liaises with Government and non‐government service providers to coordinate the provision of mental health services to clients and provide educational support to those agencies.

To be successful in this role, you will have

* Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Nursing and eligibility for registration with the relevant Board, or tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or the Society of Professional Social Workers.
* Extensive experience and demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, assessment, treatment and case management of young people with mental disorders and those 'at risk'.
* Knowledge and experience in working with young people with co‐occurring alcohol and other drug related issues.
* Organisational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a multidisciplinary team and ability to work as an independent practitioner.
* Experience in effective liaison with external agencies and working collaboratively with a wide range of government and non‐government organisations.
* Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C‐A Class drivers licence.
* Knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Work Health and Safety, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
