Why This Role Matters

The Alexis Family Violence Response Model (A‐FVRM) is a jointly designed initiative between The Salvation Army and Victoria Police, providing an integrated, risk‐informed, whole‐of‐family response to high‐risk family violence incidents. This role is critical in ensuring timely, coordinated and trauma‐informed interventions that reduce risk and strengthen safety for victim survivors.

About the Role

As an Alexis-FVRM Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Person Using Violence), you will deliver intensive, short‐term, risk‐focused interventions to men using violence, supporting behaviour change, accountability, and coordinated safety planning. You will work closely with Victoria Police and specialist family violence services to ensure timely, integrated responses that prioritise the safety of women and children. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a fixed‐term full‐time position, contracted for 12 months, based onsite in Caroline Springs, VIC.

Conditions

Compensation is in accordance with the SCHADS Level 6.

How You Will Make an Impact

* Identify and assess immediate family violence risk using MARAM‐aligned frameworks, prioritising the safety of victim survivors and children
* Conduct intake, triage and dynamic assessments as the first point of contact in a high‐risk policing environment
* Co‐review incidents with Victoria Police to support coordinated, integrated and timely responses
* Deliver short‐term case coordination including safety‐focused interventions and escalation of risk concerns
* Engage men using violence through respectful, non‐judgemental, trauma‐informed practice that upholds accountability and behaviour change
* Maintain high‐quality documentation including risk assessments, case notes and reporting aligned with TSA and legislative requirements

What You Will Bring

* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent, aligned with Mandatory Minimum Qualifications (Rec 209)
* At least five years case management experience, with family violence experience (highly desirable)
* Strong understanding of the gendered nature of family violence, intersectionality, child development and trauma
* Ability to work effectively with men using violence, maintaining boundaries, risk focus and accountability
* Experience working in multi‐disciplinary, integrated service models
* A current VIC Working with Children Check
* A current VIC Driver's Licence
* Willingness to undergo Victoria Police Security Checks
