Role Description

This is a full‐time, on‐site BMS Engineer role based in Port Melbourne, VIC. The BMS Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, configuring, and commissioning Building Management Systems for new and existing facilities. Day‐to‐day tasks include reviewing project specifications and drawings, selecting and integrating field devices, developing control sequences, and testing system performance. The role involves diagnosing and resolving BMS issues, performing system upgrades, and optimizing energy efficiency and occupant comfort. The BMS Engineer will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients, prepare technical documentation and reports, and provide training and support to end users.

Qualifications

* Strong knowledge of Building Management and Building Management Systems, including design, programming, and commissioning.
* Experience with Management Systems related to building automation, controls, and monitoring platforms.
* Understanding of Building Services, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems integration with BMS.
* Familiarity with Facility Management (FM) practices and how BMS supports maintenance, comfort, and energy performance.
* Relevant technical qualification in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Building Services) or equivalent practical experience.
* Proficiency with BMS software tools, networking fundamentals, and field controllers; experience with major BMS brands is an advantage.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical specifications.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and fault‐finding skills, with a focus on safety and compliance with applicable standards.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on‐site with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Current Australian work rights; valid driver's license and willingness to attend client sites as required.
