About the role
Passmore Automotive is seeking an experienced Automotive Workshop Foreman to join our team in Busselton, Western Australia.
This full-time position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our busy automotive workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality workmanship across our 3 business lines:
* Automotive workshop
* DoT vehicle inspections
* RAC Roadside Assistance
What you'll be doing
1. Supervise and coordinate the work of automotive technicians and mechanics to ensure all jobs are completed to a high standard and on time
2. In conjunction with the Operations Manager, you will allocate work orders and prioritise tasks to maximise productivity and meet customer expectations
3. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the workshop team
4. Monitor inventory levels and order parts and supplies as needed
5. Liaise with customers to understand their needs and provide information on the work competed on their vehicles
6. Ensure the workshop operates in compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations
7. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workshop efficiency
8. Complete quotes and order parts for bespoke repair and diagnostic jobs
9. Diagnose issues for cars towed to the workshop
10. Help monitor and train workshop Apprentices
What we're looking for
1. Significant experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, with a demonstrated track record of leadership and team management
2. Strong technical knowledge of a wide range of vehicle makes and models, including diagnostic and repair procedures
3. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in a clear and understandable manner
4. Proficient in the use of automotive diagnostic equipment and software
5. Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritise and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
6. Commitment to maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment
7. Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (e.g. Certificate III in Automotive Technology)
