About the Role:
The company seeks a reliable and hardworking Hatchery Assistant to join their team in Mulgrave. This role plays a crucial part in their breeding program and operates on a weekly roster that includes weekends. Rosters are provided three months in advance, giving you full visibility of your workdays.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Load and pack eggs and ducklings for local transport
* Handle and grade fertile duck eggs and day-old poultry
* Prepare eggs for incubation
* Operate modern automated equipment
* Clean and sanitise incubators, hatchers, and related equipment
What We're Looking For:
We require someone who is physically fit and able to lift, push, and pull up to 10 kg repeatedly. You should be comfortable working with live poultry and able to work weekends as part of the roster.
Applicants must be reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings (4:45 AM start). Having your own transport is essential due to limited public transport options.
Benefits:
This role offers stable ongoing work with an advance roster (three months ahead). Some weeks are five days, others six days – guaranteed roster clarity. Sunday shifts are paid at double time (Pastoral Award).
You will work within a supportive and established hatchery team. Monday to Friday starts at 4:45 AM, with competitive hourly pay + Super.
