Job Opportunity
This is a part-time ongoing role requiring 64 hours of work per fortnight within the mental health ward. You will work closely with the nursing education team, fostering an environment that promotes excellence in mental health nursing practice through continuous learning and positive enquiry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a transition program to support Registered Nurses transitioning from General Nursing to Mental Health Nursing.
* Provide educational leadership and guidance to develop knowledge and skills in entry-level and experienced mental health nursing staff.
* Work in partnership with Nurse Unit Manager and other nursing leaders to ensure continuing professional development activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* Evidence of extensive experience in acute adolescent mental health.
* Postgraduate diploma in Mental Health Nursing or specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing program.
* Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
Banksia Ward - Mental Health
Banksia Ward is a 16-bed inpatient unit for young people aged 13-18 years assessed and treated for mental and psychological disorders.
