Job Summary
A Geotechnical Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of mining operations. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Geotechnical Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the development and maintenance of reliable and predictive geotechnical systems to capture necessary information and provide proactive input into maintaining safe mining operations;
* Conduct geotechnical data collection and validation; recognize, investigate, analyze and effectively communicate rock fall events and ground control issues;
* Perform daily production tasks including documented geotechnical inspections of all mining areas, management of slope stability monitoring systems, input to wall control blast designs, input to the mine production schedule, operational support to the mining contractors;
* Identify and assess geotechnical hazards, design and implement effective ground support measures and conduct QAQC on geotechnical data;
* Manage and supervise geotechnical field projects, input to the geotechnical assessments of pit and waste dump designs, and ensure conformance to the site Ground Control Management Plan and all legislative requirements.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A proactive and collaborative approach and commitment to safety;
* The legal right to live and work in Australia;
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, specifically Geotechnical study;
* A minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience in Geotechnical Engineering role or significant Mining Engineering / Geology experience;
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
* Strong computer literacy, with emphasis on mining and geotechnical software;
* Ability to reside or relocate to within 60 minutes' drive of the Greenbushes Lithium Operation accommodation options available.
